Crucial has just announced that it's opened up pre-orders for its next-gen T700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, which has some truly next-gen read and write speeds. We're talking about up to 12.4GB/sec reads, and up to 11.8GB/sec writes... yeah, it's fast. Like, freaking fast.
The next-gen Crucial T700 has become the world's fastest SSD, blasting past the previous high-speed of 10GB/sec (10,000MB/sec) with its truly bonkers 12.4GB/sec (12,400MB/sec) reads. Crucial has worked closely with CPU and motherboard companies to ensure the performance reliability of its new T700 SSD, too, which is now the first Tier-1 mainstream brand with a Gen5 SSD on the market.
There's a premium heatsink included, with Crucial using an aluminium and nickel-plated copper heatsink that maximises heat dissipation, all without the need for a noisy fan or the use of liquid cooling. Crucial also worked with Phison as well as AMD and Intel (and all motherboard vendors) to test its new T700 SSD.
Crucial will be making its new T700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD available in both heatsink and non-heatsink options, but there will strictly be no active-fan coolers with these beast new SSDs. The heatsink design of the T700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSDs features a double-sided PCB with targeted thermal materials, nickel-plated copper bottom plate, an aluminium plate, and a sleek design that ensures maximum airflow (which you'll need to maintain those nuts 12.4GB/sec+ read speeds!)
