AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU: 96 cores, 192 threads at 5.14GHz teased

AMD's next-gen Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX processor is in the headlines again, with a leak that it'll pack some serious HEDT processing power: up to 96 cores and 192 threads of CPU power boosting at up to 5.14GHz. Incredible stuff. Not for your Gaming PC, but for a future HEDT system... boy, it's a LOT of processing power.

The new CPU was found inside of the HP Z6 G5 Workstation PC, as well as being tested on Geekbench where we see the new configuration packing 96C/192T but the CPU frequency is wrong in the photo -- but would be incredible if it was -- at 7.97GHz (ha!). We are to expect a boost clock of up to 5.14GHz, which is still mind-blowing as there are 96 cores and 192 threads, versus 16 cores and 32 threads in AMD's fastest Gaming CPU.

AMD is shifting over to DDR5 memory with its upcoming Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series CPUs, with this system featuring a whopping 512GB of DDR5 memory. As for the Geekbench results, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX processor spat out a single-core score of 2095 while the multi-core score hit 81408 points. In writing this might not seem like much, but it would represent a new world record... impressive.
