Capcom has announced an unexpected open beta test of Street Fighter 6, which will run between May 19 and May 21. This new open beta promises to deliver the same amount of content as the second closed beta trial, which took place just before the festive season from December 16 to December 19. The focus of this trial was the Battle Hub -- the online gathering spot where gamers could personalise their characters, issue challenges for matches to other Street Fighters, or enjoy timeless Capcom classics through virtual arcade machines integrated into the game.

The line-up for the open beta will mirror that of the second closed beta test, featuring an assortment of playable characters as follows:

• Guile
• Ken
• Chun-Li
• Juri
• Luke
• Jamie
• Kimberly

The unexpected open beta comes on the heels of the Street Fighter 6 Demo Version release, providing gamers a sneak peak into the World Tour story mode of the game. Characters crafted in the demo will be transferrable to the full version, which is launching on June 2, while those created in the open beta will not be.

Street Fighter 6 launches on June 2, with the open beta offered as a free download starting May 19.
