AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB and RX 7700 XT 12GB Announced

AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB and RX 7700 XT 12GB Announced

AMD has just announced its last two members of the RDNA 3 GPU family, with the introduction of the mid-range Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB and Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB graphics cards. Both of the new cards were unveiled at Gamescom 2023 over the last few days. Is this the new GPU for your brand-new Gaming PC? Read on!

Starting with the Radeon RX 7800 XT we have AMD's new Navi 32 GPU making its debut, rocking 60 CUs, 128 AI accelerators, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 19.5Gbps on a 256-bit memory bus. GPU clock speeds will boost up to 2430MHz, but we should expect a little bit more out of custom RX 7800 XT graphics cards, while the card will have a TBP (Total Board Power) of 263W.

Next up, is the Radeon RX 7700 XT which features the same Navi 32 GPU, with 54 CUs, 108 AI accelerators, and 12GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 18Gbps on a 192-bit memory bus. GPU clock speeds are expected to hit up to 2544MHz, but once again, custom designs of the RX 7700 XT should see higher GPU clocks, while the RX 7700 XT has a 245W TBP.

AMD compares its new Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB against NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 12GB... saying it has "great performance" with 33% more memory, and is future-ready with DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. NONE of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards have DisplayPort 2.1 support, with just the older DisplayPort 1.4 standard instead.

There's up to 23% more performance on offer with the RX 7800 XT 16GB against the RTX 4070 12GB in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Cyberpunk 2077... although, I'd love to see these performance numbers if DLSS 3 and Frame Generation were enabled in Cyberpunk 2077 on the RTX 4070 12GB. It would SLAY the results from the RX 7800 XT 16GB, easily... like, double the performance, and some.

AMD then compares its new Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB against NVIDIA's current GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB (but no mention of VRAM) with some impressive performance results out of the card. We also have the future-ready DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity here on the RX 7700 XT 12GB, which is SO nice to see.

We will have AMD's new Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB and Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB inside of our Ready to Ship Gaming PCs as soon as they land on Australian soil.
